SCHOOL HISTORY

Colegio de Kapatagan was created under Municipal Ordinance No. 96, series of 2019 of the Municipality of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte (An ordinance creating, establishing and institutionalizing the Colegio de Kapatagan, defining its powers and functions, appropriating funds for the operation therefore and for other purposes) on July 8, 2019, through Resolution No. 351-2019, duly
approved and signed by Hon. Governor Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo.

Colegio de Kapatagan was an initiative of Hon. Mayor Barry Yu Baguio and Municipal Administrator Beth Q. Baguio, together with the Sangguniang Bayan and Interim Board of Trustees, to serve as the learning institution for students from the locality and all other neighboring Local Governments whose intention shall be to achieve quality, professional and educational growth and human resource development.

The school was temporarily located at the premises of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office at Poblacion, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, and started its operation last August 5, 2019, offering three (3) degree programs namely, BS Criminology, BS Entrepreneurship and BS Social Work, with 226 total enrolled students and 7 full-time faculty and staff.

At present, Colegio de Kapatagan, with its new state-of-the-art facilities and main campus in Villa Elena, Poblacion, Kapatagan, has a total of 436 enrolled students and 18 full-time faculty and staff, headed by the School Administrator-Designate EnP. Femalyn M. Teleron, MPA and School President Ricardo R. Quidato, Ph.D, in its fourth year of bringing quality education by all means necessary to the constituents of Kapatagan, neighboring municipalities, and the Province of Lanao del Norte.
